William “Bill” Quick, Jr., 86, of Candor, New York, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Palm Bay, Fl. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Sr. and Margaret Quick; son, Gregory Quick; sister, Freda Billings; two brothers, Donald Quick, Charles Quick. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Quick; five children and their spouses, Dusty Quick, Randy (Debbie) Quick, Vickie Powell, Jodie (Christopher) Speaks, Kristi (Keith) Carter; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, 5 sisters and spouses, Lloyd (Brenda) Quick, Joyce Quick, Margaret Granger, Joyce Stewart, Laura (Francis) Updyke, Carol (Kenneth) Decker, Joyce Houselander; numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army and former commander of the American Legion Post #907. He retired after 35 years of service from AT&T. Bill was very community minded and was instrumental with founding the Candor Ambulance and Skyline Horse Club, a member of the Candor Fire Department and a part-time police officer for the Candor Police and the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department, a member of 1607 IAM Union and a former member of the Willseyville Community Club. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor with the Rev. Phillip Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Valley Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Army, American Legion Post #907 and the VFW Post # 1371 honor guards.
