Obituary of Peter Jesse Haahr

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter Jesse Haahr, 67, of Owego passed away on Friday, May 27th, 2016. Peter dedicated his life to his family, friends, and the art of music. He shared his passion with all, and used his talents to connect people and spread happiness until the very end. Peter taught music in Honduras for several years, and was always active in the local music scene as a teacher, band member, sound technician, and music store manager. He will be remembered as a thoughtful, loving, and creative person with a quirky sense of humor… but above all, as the “Cool Dad”. Peter is pre-deceased by his wife, Ann Estelle Haahr; daughter, Julie K. Bryden; mother, Sophie Haahr; and father, Jesse Haahr. He is survived by five siblings, Barbara VanHemel, Judith Zarzecki, Mary Ellen Saxby, Robert Haahr, and Mark Haahr; two sons: Peter M. Haahr, and Patrick M. Haahr; and two daughters: Colie E. Haahr and Melissa A. Haahr. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5 to 6:45 p.m. with a celebration of Peter’s life to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Please “come together” for a memorial concert with the Playin’ Possums at The John Barleycorn Tavern in Owego, NY on Friday, June 3rd from 8pm-12am.
