Leonard D. Dence, 80, of Owego passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Elderwood Care of Tioga with his family by his side. Mr. Dence was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Lulabelle Dence, in 1992. “May they rest in peace in each other’s arms again”; also predeceased by his sister, Alice Oliver. He is survived by his three children and spouses, Penny and Tom Hunter, Timothy and Debbie Dence, Debra Lou Dence and Jim Gunnison; three grandchildren, Tommi Hunter and her fiance, Andres Rivera, Douglas Hunter, Jessica Hunter and Scottie Francisco; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore “Teddy” Dence, Allen Dence; brother-in-law, Richard Oliver; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born February 4, 1936, the son of Allen and Etta (Hoyt) Dence. He was a member of IBEW Local 1249 and very proud to be a journeyman Lineman for over 50 years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Condolences may be made to Leonard’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
