Obituary of Marianna N. Guido

Marianna Guido, 90, of Owego, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Mrs. Guido was predeceased by her mother, Helen Neise, husband, James Guido; daughter, Frances Guido. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Guido. Marianna graduated with a B.A. and a Masters Degree from SUNY Albany. She taught math at Owego Free Academy for 26 years. She loved reading mysteries and the works of Thomas Merton, doing Sudoku Puzzles and watching the Yankees play baseball. She would say a nightly prayer for President Barack Obama and she happily supported Hillary Clinton for President. Marianna enjoyed being surrounded by her friends, especially, Ron and Ellen Pasto, Mary Hogan, Ginny Vest, Norma and Frances Slocum, Emy and Jim Franz, Barbara Krasnoff and James Freund. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St., Owego. Burial will be private in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
