Obituary of Christopher Michael Franz

Christopher M. Franz, 37, of Owego passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 peacefully at home. Predeceased by his father, Edward Franz, sister-in-law, Leanne Cardone, uncle and aunt, William and Carol Franz. Chris is survived by his mother, Rose Franz; siblings, Ann Marie and Michael Watkins, Michael and Diane Franz, Catherine and Chad Baum; nieces and nephew, Emma, Bridget, Gavin, Julia and Stella; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris graduated from OFA. He worked for St. Patrick’s Church. Chris was very community minded and was a member and leader of Boy Scout Troop 37; an active and proud member of Croton Hose #3, a member of the Owego Fire Police and the VFW Post #1371 Auxiliary. He was a music connoisseur, avid N.Y. Yankees Fan, loved to ride his bicycle and HATED MONDAYS!! A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main Street, Owego. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
