Marylea L. Fenton, 81, of Apalachin went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Marylea was born in Ithaca, NY to the late Paul and Cora LaFrance. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Fenton, long time teacher and coach at OACSD; son and daughter-in-law, R. David and Angela Fenton, of Australia; granddaughter, Lily-Ann Fenton, of Australia; brother, Thomas LaFrance, of Ashland, OH; niece, Mary Louise (Michael) Metcalf, of Ashland, OH; great-nephew, Matthew Metcalf, of Ashland, OH; many dear friends. Marylou attended Ithaca High School and later, Ithaca College. She was a former secretary for OACSD, Talcott St. Elementary School and later the OACSD Transportation Department. Marylea was a devoted charter member of Sword and Spirit Christian Fellowship and Intercessor Prayer Warrior. She loved to read books about her Jesus, going to bible studies with her friends and discipling new christians. A celebration of Marylea’s Life will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sword and Spirit Christian Fellowship , 37 Dickenson Road, Owego. Burial will follow in the Broadway Cemetery, Owego. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, C/O Pastor Bob Harris, 86 Southside Drive, Owego, NY 13827.
