Obituary of Joseph Paul Ziomek

Joseph Paul Ziomek, 89, of Owego died March 1, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital due to congestive heart failure. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Ziomek; twin siblings, Mary Catherine and Bobby Ziomek. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna Mae “Ann” (Fessenden) Ziomek; three children and their spouses, Matthew and Judy Ziomek, Mary Theresa (Dan) Chamberlain, Maggie Ziomek; three grandchildren, Kendra (Sean) Osterman, Whitney and Erin Ziomek; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Ryan; brother-in-law, Robert Fessenden; sister-in-law, Ruth Murphy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe served three years in the U.S. Navy. He worked nine years for Bendiz Aviation in South Montrose, PA and worked 26 years for IBM – Owego, retiring in 1987. Joe was a life member of the VFW Post #1371. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main Street, Owego. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
