Leona V. Payne, 63, of Owego passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 9, 2017. Leona was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Grace Payne. She is survived by her brother, John Payne; several aunts, cousins and dear friends. Leona graduated from OFA Class of 1972. She was currently employed with Datrose Inc. of Endicott. Leona was very community minded and currently a member of the Campville Volunteer Fire Company and a member and former Deacon of the First Presbyterian Union Church of Owego. She loved her cat, Bailey and was a huge hockey fan. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Crouse Irving Hospital and Dr. Bunn and his staff. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Union Church, North Avenue, Owego with the Rev. Lisa Heckman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Leona Payne’s memory to the Campville Volunteer Fire Co., 6153 State Route 17C, Endicott, NY 13760.
