Obituary of Joan N. Crown

Joan N. “Joanie” Crown, 82, of Owego, NY passed  away on Tuesday,  April 25, 2017.  Joan was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Luella Nagel; stepfather, William Halstead;  sister, Patricia Lainhart.  She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Vernon & Becky Crown, William “Rusty” Crown; three  grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special niece and her guardian angel, Kris Madison; several other nieces and nephews.  In her younger years, Joanie enjoyed helping her parents run the family businesses, The Owego Pennysaver and The Deep Well Restaurant.  Later she retired from Scott Smith and Sons, Inc., after 30 years of service.  She was a former member of the Owego United Methodist Church and a Master Gardner.  Joanie had a big place in her heart for her cats.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Pastor Bob Harris, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Joan N.
