Obituary of Hervey W. Heywood

Hervey W. Heywood, Jr.,  94, formerly of Barton, NY passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Derry, NH.  He served in the Engineers Petroleum Distribution Company of the U.S. Army in World War II, and later studied photography in New York City. He was an avid hiker and skier.  He lived with his family for many years in Lexington, MA.  He worked as a commercial photographer at EG&G, HSS, and Cine Services.  During his retirement years, he became a beekeeper and got his motorcycle license. Hervey was born in Boston, MA to the late Hervey and Grace Heywood.  Besides his parents, Hervey was predeceased by his sister, Esther Belcher; two brothers, Donald and Stuart Heywood.  He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Barbara Heywood; two daughters, Elisabeth Heywood, Nancy Heywood; two granddaugters, Corey Stevens, Brock Arnold; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Irene Heywood; several nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 1:30 pm at the Halsey Valley Cemetery, Barton, NY.
