Obituary of Barbara Hollister Tappan

Saturday, July 8, 2017, I heard God’s voice calling me, Barbara H. Tappan, to come home to join my beloved family members who already crossed over to be with our Father who art in heaven.  I was predeceased by my parents, Frank and Leslie Hollister, sister, Doris Ballard; husband of 56 years, Carl Tappan; son, Charles Robert Tappan. I was born August 23, 1921 in Owego, NY and raised in Owego and eventually settled with my most loving husband and father, Carl A. Tappan.  I leave behind  my daughter, Nancy Tappan, Newark Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Etta Tappan, Norridgewock, ME; three grandsons, Scott, Tony (Meredith), Ricky (Vanessa); five great-grandchildren,  Cassady, Kyle (Michelle), Trey, Trent, Barrett;  one great-great-grandson, Mason; nieces, Judy (Robert) Raymond, Barbara (Robert) Soltis; nephew, James (Sue) Ballard; several great nieces and nephews.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.  Burial will follow in the Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
