Geraldine “Gerry” Simielo Walker, 80, of Owego, NY, passed away on August 11, 2017.  Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Wayne, on November 27, 1992.  She is survived by her daughter, Christie Walker, of Nichols; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Gerry began her carreer for Crown Industries and later retired from IBM Owego after many years of service.  Gerry loved to “hold court” in her home with her many friends, sharing her generosity and wonderful sense of humor, and by providing a welcome haven for all.  She appreciated being referred to as “The Coolest Old Lady in Owego.”  Gerry will be greatly missed by many.  Funeral services will be led by Rev. Richard Schaal, with Nelda Lynch, on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, August 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the dog rescue or adoption agency of your choice.  Condolences may be made to Gerry’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
