Obituary of Patsy Holmes

Patsy Holmes, 89, of Owego passed away on August 18, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.  She was predeceased by her parents, Church & Ruth Sutton; and son, James “Jim Bob” Holmes.  She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert; three sons, Gordon (Stephanie) Holmes, David Holmes, Daniel Holmes;  daughter, Nina (Daniel) Jackson; six grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) Holmes, James Michael Holmes, Kathryn (Joe) Cornman, Kyle (Nicole) Jackson, Matthew (Samantha) Jackson, Luke Jackson; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John (Phyllis) Sutton; sister, Diane Case.  Patsy and Bob began their married life as house parents at Upstate Baptist Home for Children.  She was a faithful house mother.   Patsy drove school bus for the OACSD and enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.  She was also a graduate of Practical Bible Training School.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the South Apalachin Baptist Church, 4416 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, with Pastor Crane officiating.  Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery following the service.  The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego.  Memorial contributions may be given to South Apalachin Baptist Church - Missions Fund.
