We are so sorry for the loss of Ed so suddenly and too soon! Our hearts ache for all of you. He was always so active, and we will miss seeing him on our walks with his precious little doggies keeping him company. It was easy to see how much joy he got from them and how important his family was to him. It seems with you all, he had a wonderful life full of fun and love.

Donna and Family, It is with a very heavy heart that I write these words. My prayers go out to your family. As you know, Ed and I were hired together in the same department and we work together for many years. I have the honor of saying this: Ed and I were friends from when we started until the day he left us, over 36 years. Even though we were peers, Ed was my mentor who I always looked up to, and not just work. Family, house projects, boating, fishing, ...you name it. He was a true renaissance man that could tackle anything. A man of never ending projects with always a good story to share on any one of them. He was passionate, curious, driven to detail to a fault, yet still down to earth and humble. Ed was one of the smartest guys I have ever had the pleasure to be with and I learned much from him. I can’t imagine the difficulty it will be to carry on without him. Ed left us way too early in life but still leaves a legacy behind. I know you are strong and you will find the way. My deepest sympathy Bill and Suzan Cohen

To Donna, your kids, and your grandchildren: Ed was the kind of person I wanted to be when I grew up...and still do want to be that kind of guy. He was always quick with a smile, and welcomed me without reservation to participate in activities with the family. Pig wrangling, hunting, fishing...those are my last experiences with Ed and they are all, and will remain, fond memories for me. Because of Ed (and you, too Donna), I got my first NY state deer on your farm (without harm to your horses!); I learned to catch salmon in Pulaski (several years ago with Ed, Josh, and Mariah); and with Ed and Josh, learned to vertical jig for Cayuga lake trout. I'm going to miss having Ed on my boat - Jack and Jill are welcome as usual (I guess Josh is too)! Sincerely, Daryl Santos

Dear Donna and Family, I cannot describe the feeling of shock and heartache felt when dad told me Ed had passed. I don't think I can remember a time when he wasn't positive, joyful, always willing to lend a hand. Mom and I were talking about one of the ski trips we had the pleasure of Ed's company....his faster than lightening way of skiing down the slopes to the time he got off the trail and wiped out in the woods. We could hear him laughing is crazy head off only to see him pop up and bolt down the hill again trying to ski faster than the speed of light. I also remember the time he was determined to dig and install his own septic tank.....man he was something. There was nothing he couldn't do. So many memories... Our thoughts are with you and the kids.....we are here for you. Sue, Stephenie & Christopher

Donna and family, It was my honor to work with Ed for many years. His contributions were immeasurable and much of our success was because of him. I find myself reflecting on our travels to NASPAX, we always had to stop at Cabelas on the way, and it was my fortune to get to know him as a friend. Beyond physical stature he was a force of a man but I’ll always remember him as a proud dad with Jack and Jill riding along in the front of his truck. His humor and dedication to friend and family will make him greatly missed but our lives have been made richer having known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Dick Stevens
