Obituary of Mark Steven Zimmerman

Mark S. Zimmerman, 62, a lifelong resident of Candor passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer, ILD and Pneumonia. Mark was predeceased by his mother, Martha Zimmerman. He is survived by his BFF, significant other and Plus One, Patty Lewis; his father, David Zimmerman; brother, Joseph Zimmerman; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Doug Quinn; niece, Kimberly Zimmerman, his special friends, Rick and Diane Bell and their daughters, Hailey and Kayla Bell; his work son, Jordan Mancini, an uncle and several cousins. Mark retired from Lockheed Martin after 40+ years of service. He will be remembered for his heart of gold, generosity and his love for all his four-legged pets. Mark loved his corvettes, fishing, ice fishing in his younger years, photography and taking pictures of everything including wildlife, traveling especially his visits to Mexico and his family visits to South Carolina, his cooking, homemade beer and his barbecuing was AMAZING!!. Mark was the 2011 People's Choice winner of the Ithaca Chili Fest and won 1st Place at the 1997 Cooperstown Homebrew Porter Contest. The only Beer Mark didn't like was the last beer. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with services live streamed at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com (click on Mark's obituary) The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
