Obituary of Joseph Michael Fabrizio

Joseph Michael Fabrizio October 24, 1928 - August 17, 2021 Joseph M. Fabrizio, 92, of Endicott, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Mr. Fabrizio was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Louisa Fabrizio, his brother, Ernest Fabrizio, and the love of his life and wife of 72 years, Fannie Dannibale Fabrizio. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law Beatrice and Jack Bailey and Jo A. Fabrizio and Michael Bonventre, three grandchildren Andrew (Jeane), Jocelyn, and Lauren (Jeff) Bailey; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Edward and Mary Fabrizio, Mario and Aggie Fabrizio, Philomena Fabrizio; and sister, Palma Colonna; and several nieces and nephews. Joe owned the Economy Shoe Repair in Endicott for several years after leaving the Endicott Johnson Shoe Company. His interest in community service led him to complete high school while working full-time and he became a police officer with the Endicott Police Department, an accomplishment he was extremely proud of. While rising to the rank of Lieutenant, Joe started and ran the Junior Rifle program along with coaching girls softball for many years, influencing the lives of many neighborhood kids. In addition to full time work, Joe did construction and remodeling around town. He would often point out houses as he went around Endicott that he had remodeled. After his retirement, he enjoyed puzzles with his grandchildren, crafting homemade toys and outdoor games, working in his garden and sharing homemade baked goods with everyone who needed a cookie. He was particularly well known for his college care packages, enthusiastic renditions of happy birthday, and firework displays. End of watch. Job well done.
