Obituary of John Zlinsky

John "JZ" Zlinsky,82 formerly of Owego, NY, went to be with Jesus on September 8, 2021 at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born on February 7, 1939 to Stephen and Katherine Zlinsky. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his granddaughter, Alyssa Anne Pass; brothers, James and Stephen Zlinsky; sisters, MaryLou Zlinsky, Marshall and Francis Zlinsky Kollar; and brother-in-law, Joseph Dean. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Sharon Dean Zlinsky; children, Wendy (Jeff) Pass, Dave Zlinsky, Heather (Chris) Sharpe, and Tim Zlinsky; 9 grandchildren, AJ (Michelle), Chad, Meghan (Kyle), Alison, Andrea, Jacob, Tristan, Alyssa and Mason; brother, Joseph Zlinsky; sister, Deloras Zlinsky Feeko; brother-in-law, Edward (Janice) Dean; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. John grew up in Binghamton before marrying and settling down in Owego. He worked for IBM - Owego for 35 years and retired from Lockheed Martin. Upon retirement, he followed his dream of moving to Myrtle Beach with his wife to live out their Golden Years. John could walk into any room and get everyone laughing with his jokes, quick wit, stories and his big laugh. He could be heard at all sports events, yelling and cheering over the crowd. The proud Dad, Grandpa and Poppy would talk about his kids and grandkids to anyone who would stop and listen. Our dad would always tell us "We may not be rich in money, but we are rich in what counts, our family!" Dad, you will be forever be missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of John's life will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Christian Church of Myrtle Beach, 1226 Burcale Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
