Obituary of Everett Daniel Damon

Everett D. Damon, 93, previously residing in Cape Coral, Florida and recently in Apalachin, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Everett was predeceased by his parents, Deward and Aldine (Mason) Damon; two brothers, James and Robert Damon; two sisters, Carol (Phil) Clark, Betty (Gardie) Thompson; his wife of 49 years, Donna Damon; and son, Michael Damon. Everett is survived by his children, Gary (Trisha) Damon, Janet (Damon) Niedopytalski, Terri (John) O'Bryant, Carol (Mark) Detrick, Larry (Regina) Penrose, Robert Penrose and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with two sisters, Marion (Max) Bray, Shirley (Ray) Woodcock, brother, Donald (Diane) Damon, as well as several nieces and nephews. Everett was a graduate of Alfred State College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Owego Agway. He was very community minded and a member of Elks Lodge #1039, and American Legion Post #401 in Owego, NY. Everett enjoyed traveling, boating, gardening, and many other outdoor activities. Everett and Donna shared many happy years of retirement in Tennessee and Florida. The family wishes to thank Robert Niedopytalski and Kay Ellis, as well as the nursing staff at Wilson Hospital, for their love and support to Everett and his family. The family will receive friends and on Friday, October 29th from 10:00am to 10:45am with services to immediately follow at 11:00am at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Services will be live streamed at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com (click Everett's obituary). Burial will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
