Obituary of Franklin Stewart Bensley

Franklin "Frank" Bensley, Sr., 95, of Owego passed away Tuesday, Jan 18, 2022. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Anne "Maud" Bensley; siblings, Doris Eyre, Frederick, Henry, Harold, Robert, Marvin "Dutch" Bensley; his second wife, Eileen Bensley; his first wife and mother-of-his-children and lifelong companion, Margaret Morris; granddaughter, Christine Bensley; son-in-law, Mark Ward. Frank is survived by his children and their spouses, Franklin Bensley, Jr., David and Ramona Bensley, Roger and Deborah Bensley, Karen Ward, Frederick and Lucille Bensley; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alma "Jeannie" Parsons; sister-in-law, Nelda Bensley; sister-in-law, Helen Bensley; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Frank was a member of the Merchant Marines. He drove truck for a living and retired from the Village of Newark Valley Department of Public Works. Frank enjoyed traveling with Margaret and visiting with relatives across the country. He loved playing cards with whoever would play with him. Frank always looked forward to visits from his great-grandchildren for whom he adored. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with services immediately following at 12:00 Noon.
