Obituary of Carolyn A. Murch

Carolyn Murch, 83, of Newark Valley passed peacefully on January 25, 2022. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Mildred Hyde, her husband, Melvin "Gary" Murch, brother Fred Hyde, and sister Eleanor Slater. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cheryl Utter; grandchildren, Cory, Eliza, Emily and Alexis, ten great-grandchildren, and beloved niece Susan Akerman. Carolyn was a successful entrepreneur, having owned several successful businesses, including an antique shop, a pet shop, and most recently, the Consignment Corner in Newark Valley. She worked as a caregiver part time and was always finding ways to help the less fortunate. Her sense of humor was well known, Carolyn was always ready with a witty comment and a quick come back. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her. Funeral services will be held privately at the family's convenience. She will lay at rest reunited with her beloved husband in Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn's name to the Fred L.
