Somehow we did not see Tony's obituary and were away at the time. We just now saw it in our e-mails, We are so sorry to hear of his passing, Tony was one of our ushers at our wedding on Feb. 16, 1963. He was a wonderful person, he also was Godfather to our son, Dean, who was born Mar. 2, 1965. Kathleen we are so sorry to hear of your loss and Al & Janet, we are so sorry we did not know sooner. Kathleen so sorry to just hear about Tony. Not knowing of his passing as I was in Iceland the two of you were on my mind while I was there. I was trying to remember all the places you went to and the things to do made my trip so fantastic. You both have done so much in various ways to reach out to people. Thank you both. May he rest in peace. I'll miss seeing you both dancing so beautifully around the dance floor.

Kathleen and Tony’s vast circle of influence… we honor this wonderful man for both his generosity, as well as the warm friendship he offered to us and so many others. Fond memories include treks, together, out in the back woods during deer season and dinners/ dances out including one very special ride in a Rolls Royce. Our memories of Tony go back to the time that he and Kathleen first moved into our neighborhood. Tony’s smile and laughter were infectious and showed his true personality. He was always ready to help when called upon. Many of our memories, too, had to do with his culinary skills which were well known. Another thing about Tony that was admirable was the depth of his mind, the knowledge of so many things and his understanding on so many topics. And even though he was retired, it seemed like he was always working, whether he was volunteering to local charities, or working on his own projects. Tony will be missed and our deepest sympathies go out to Kathleen and the Esser family.

Kathleen, Al, Janet – Our sympathy and prayers go out to you upon hearing of cousin Tony’s passing. I recall many good and fun times with him. When I was 4 or 5 and he was working in Broome County he’d visit us weekly (driving his 1967 Dodge Charger – “The Green Gherkin”) and even though he was ten to twenty years older than me and my siblings, we always had fun times with Tony. Fast forward many years and I recall fun times with him clamming and fishing when he lived on Long Island, then hunting, cross country skiing, cutting firewood and even cooking with him when he lived in Walton, NY, helping him move a few times, etc. Then, 2 years ago when I last saw him during the time my Dad was ill and passed away, he took care of Dads last taxes and came to visit with him and us. As I think about him, I am very sad he is gone, but the memories of him are fond and bring a tear, but also a smile, to me. May God comfort you all during this time. Kathleen & family The neighborhood will never be the same without Tony. He spent many hours helping us with all manner of issues from computer disasters to proper use of tools. He showed such compassion and love for all including his cat Pookie whom he adored. Donating his body to science was a fitting last gift to humanity. We will hold him in our hearts forever.
