Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Joan H (Wordin) Dizer, died Friday, August 2, 2024 peacefully at her daughter's home in Rexford, NY. Joan was married for 50 years to her soulmate, Bob Dizer, who preceded her in death. Joan was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Angelina Dizer, and her great granddaughter, Olivia Hill. Joan was born on January 8, 1933, and grew up in Middletown, NY with her parents, Madeline and Edson Wordin. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene & Tom Stivers and her brother John Wordin. After Bob was discharged from the Airforce, Joan and Bob moved to Owego, NY to raise their growing family. Joan is survived by her eleven children, Mike & Chris Dizer, Bob & Heidi Dizer, Cathy Pollard, Tom Dizer & Debbie Dodge, Sue & Mike Kotsubka, Mary & Chuck Hill, Patty Adams, Russ Dizer & Alex Bailey, Tim & Holly Dizer, Bill & Dina Dizer, and Pete Dizer. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joan loved traveling with Bob and camping with her children and grandchildren. She was a volunteer at the Tioga County Rural Ministry and an organist at St. Patrick's church for many years. For four years Joan and Bob lived in Manheim Germany and loved traveling throughout Europe until Bob's retirement from IBM Owego. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Esty, Munroe, & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St. Owego, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 300 Main St., Owego NY. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Joan Dizer's memory to the Tioga County Rural Ministry, 143 North Avenue, Owego, NY 13827.
