Edward V. "Ed/Eddie" Cooper, Jr., 62, of Owego, New York, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024. Ed was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Edward, Sr. and Mary (Cunningham) Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Taryn (Fiske) Cooper; three children, Meaghan and her husband, Shane Hulle, Evan Cooper and Eden Cooper; three sisters, Maryjane Cooper, Shirley Cooper and Fern Pelkey; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ed was known for his sense of humor, love of the Jersey cow and his passion for his family. Ed was also known for his wisdom and was a mentor to many. One of Ed's dreams was to farm again in NY, which he achieved two years before he died. He loved watching his family accomplish great things by working together. Another dream was to win Grand at the All-American Jersey Show in Louisville, KY. Now his family's goal is to see this dream to fruition. He was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Association and the Holstein Association. He was a past President of the New York Cattle Club and Chairman of the All-American Jersey Show. He and his wife, Taryn were previous winners of the Outstanding Young Jersey Breeders award. He bred both All-American and All-Canadian winners. The family will receive friends Friday, November 29, 2024 from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at 2:00 p.m.at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Contributions in memory of Edward Cooper Jr. may be made to the Jersey Youth Academy, c/o AJCA, 6486 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. The mission of the Jersey Youth Academy is to attract, educate and retain talented young people for careers in the Jersey dairy business. It will be achieved through cooperative efforts of the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc., Jersey owners everywhere, and allied industry.
