Elizabeth "Betty" Jane York, 71, of Spencer, NY, affectionately known as "Barefoot Betty", passed away on January 23, 2025. Betty was born on May 1, 1953, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Haney. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Roger York; sister, Ada Kohlage. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Laura Holt; her two grandchildren, Hannah & Levi, whom she referred to as "the perfect one's"; close family friend, Craig Kranz. She will also be missed by her three cats. Betty graduated from Dryden High School in 1971. She owned York's Auto Service and volunteered at the Spencer Food Pantry. Anyone who met her would tell you how much she bragged about her grandkids; they were her world. In honoring Betty's wishes, there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation to The Spencer Food Pantry, 91 Orchard St,, Spencer, NY 14883 or Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Rd, Waverly, NY 14892. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home.
