James William "Jimmy" Rhodes, 74, of Owego, New York, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 24, 2025, in Vero Beach, FL. Jimmy was born August 26, 1950 in Endicott, New York to the late William Rhodes and Hattie (Hines) Testa. He was an Owego Free Academy graduate, class of 1970 and was active in baseball, wrestling and football. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with friends, camping, fishing, boating, playing cards and playing darts. He was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. He worked for the Tioga County Sheriff's Department and retired from Emerson Electric. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Rhodes. Jimmy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Chris Tolp, Apex, NC; two grandsons, Logan and Gamble Tolp; sister-in-law, Beverly Rhodes; his companion, Patricia Murphy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on July 27th, 2025, at 12:00 noon, located at the Loyal Order of the Moose, 3 Goodrich Road, Owego. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy's memory to the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1595, 3 Goodrich Road, Owego, NY 13827 or a charity of one's choice.
