Obituary of Eamonn Francis D'Arcy

Please share a memory of Eamonn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Today we raise a glass in honor of Eamonn D'Arcy, a remarkable husband, father, father-in- law, and Pop Pop who left this world on February 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. Born in Ireland on October 4, 1935, Eamonn embraced life with an adventurous spirit. He was not just a family man, he was the heart of our family, a master storyteller, and a gentle giant who never missed an opportunity to make us smile. That twinkle in his amazing blue eyes always led to a little mischief with one family member or another. His presence filled our lives with joy. As a husband to Betty J. D'Arcy, he was a partner in every sense-supportive, loving, and always ready to bust out an Irish tune with his beautiful voice. Together, they created a beautiful home, fillled with warmth and laughter. As a father to Sean (Julie) D'Arcy, Eric (Tracey) D'Arcy, Mark (Connie) D'Arcy and Julie (Corby) Croce, he taught us the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of a good sense of humor. He was our biggest cheerleader, always encouraging us to chase our dreams while reminding us to enjoy the journey. To his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was "Pop Pop," a title he wore proudly. He was the one who could turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure, whether it was sneaking treats, playing president of the "Girls Club", coaching youth soccer (First coach of Hinsdale Youth Soccer) or just sitting in his chair proudly watching his grandchildren play with a smile on his face. He simply was the best. Though he has departed from this world, Eamonn's spirit lives on in each of us. Remember him not in tears, but in laughter and joy – just as he would have wanted. Sláinte. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22nd from 3:00 to 3:45pm, with a celebration of his life to immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY In lieu of flowers and because of his love of reading, please consider donating to the Tappan-Spaulding Memorial Library, P.O.
