James "Jim" Hoyt Obituary

James R. "Jim" Hoyt, 81, of Candor, New York, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Clair and Mildred (Harris) Hoyt; brother, Fred Hoyt; brother-in-law, Robert Hover. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Hoyt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Ray Sears, Amy and Dale Houseknecht; three grandchildren, Taralynn (Andy) Robinson, Kalie Houseknecht, Jacob Houseknecht; great-grandson, Kevin Robinson; four sisters-in-law, Teresa Hoyt, Marilyn (Don) Soule, Sharon (Charlie) Higinson, Carol Hover; several nieces and nephews. Jim retired from Emerson Power Transmission. He will be remembered for his love of his favorite sports teams, the New York Giants, New York Yankees and the Syracuse Orangeman, but most important to Jim was his family. He cherished his time with them and his legacy will continue to live within them. In honoring Jim's wishes, there will be no public services.
