Dean DeGaramo, Sr.
Dean DeGaramo, Sr., 58, of Owego, NY, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. Born on September 23, 1966, Dean lived a life marked by loyalty, resilience, and a fierce devotion to his family.
A proud fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and a lifelong NASCAR enthusiast, Dean especially admired the legacy of Dale Earnhardt Jr. while also being an avid fan of Bobby Labonte. He found joy in life's simple pleasures—walking the streets of Owego, spending time with loved ones, and finishing his adventures with an ice-cold Busch Light in hand.
Dean was a dedicated provider and a loving father and grandfather. His greatest pride came from his children and grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with unwavering support and unconditional love.
He is survived by his children, Dean DeGaramo, Jr. and Sheena Cannavino (DeGaramo); his beloved grandchildren Nakeyda, Malakhy, Addison, Addie, Huntlee, Daxtynn, and Arayah; and his siblings Judy, Sheila, Paula, Penny, Virginia, Cindy, Charlie, Marty, and Doug. Dean also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember his humor, strength, and generous spirit.
He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Julia (Bell) DeGaramo.
Dean's memory will live on in every shared story, every tailgate cheer, and every walk down the roads he loved.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 22, 2025 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY 13827 with Pastor Jay Geistdorfer, officiating. .
