Gregory Glenn "Greg" Marion Obituary

Greg Marion, 75, of Owego, New York, passed away on August 7, 2025. Greg was a man's man — the kind of man whose walk showed the world what integrity looked like. His life was marked by giving, compassion, wisdom, and an inner strength that inspired everyone who knew him.

In every vocation, Greg quickly rose to leadership. As an ironworker, he worked on notable projects including the Binghamton Arena, the state office building, and multiple overpass bridges near Unadilla, New York. In construction, he built homes, pole barns, and silos. His talents also extended to working on electric buses and contributing to our country's self-defense through machining and programming. As a minister, Greg faithfully served his community for his entire life.

Greg had a brilliant mind and was a voracious reader. His friends affectionately called him the local Bible Scholar, and his deep knowledge of history was equally impressive. In retirement, Greg and his wife, Kim, spent their days traveling, cultivating their garden, riding their motorcycle, taking long country drives, and listening to music.

Family was Greg's greatest pride and joy, and he was their steady rock. He shared a rich and beautiful life with Kim and their children, Jessie, Jacob, and Jennifer. Over the years, the family grew to include Craig, Darlyn, Jesse, and three cherished grandchildren — Lexi, Jackson, and Gabriel. Greg was the son of Lou and Shirley and the brother of Dan, Pam, Sharon, Debbie, Terri, and Jeff. He loved each of them deeply.

Greg passed away carrying in his heart the song that reflected the way he lived — "Is He Worthy" by Andrew Peterson — a melody of love, faith, and strength. His family invites friends to gather at their home on Thursday, August 14, 2025, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m., to celebrate his life. Please bring a lawn chair and a story to share in his honor.

In memory of Greg, his family asks that you listen to "Is He Worthy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMWrAqMWhWs — may it bring you the same comfort and hope it brought to him.
