Elwyn "Bud" Caldwell, 93, of Apalachin, New York, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Bud is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, John Caldwell, Clay and Kimberly Caldwell; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and John Milaski; his step-children, Cindi Root, Mark and Chris Root, Jeffrey and Sandy Root; eleven grandchildren, Alaney, Abby, Jen (Karl), Amanda (Greg), Daniel (Nikki), Joe (Katrina), Meghan, John, Jr., Ian, Isaac, Natalie; cousin, Dorothy Wainbalt; ten great-grandchildren. Bud attended the naval academy and graduated from Georgia Tech, with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He was an avid gardener and loved cooking gourmet food and entertaining. After retiring, He and his wife, Jan, lived in Florida, where they enjoyed golfing. His faith was extremely important to him, and he attended the First Baptist Church of Johnson City.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY with the Pastor Jim Murphy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, NY. A special Thank You to Lisa Larson and Dr. Susan Choi.
