Roy Martin Lux, 78, of Spencer, New York, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at home. Roy was born in Elmira, New York to the late Constance Adell Personius and Charles Martin Lux. Along with is parents, Roy was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca "The Rose Lady" Sundquist-Lux; his brother, Bruce Lux; niece, Lynnette (Lonnie) Lux. Roy is survived by his daughter, Christine (Lux) Mead and her husband, Robert Mead; son, Roy A. Lux and his wife, Lori Lux; sister, Patty Blackwell and her husband, Gary Blackwell; niece, Manda Lewis (Blackwell) and husband, Jason; nephew, Scott Balckwell, and wife Kimberley Blackwell; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several great nieces and nephews. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic, member of Attack Squadron (VA 27), serving aboard the USS Constellation, and received the National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He later went on to become a wedding photographer, which became a joint venture with his wife, Rebecca, who created beautiful paper rose bouquets for the weddings they attended. Roy was a longtime member of the Danby Federated Church and for a short time, he even became a pastor at a small community church. Roy also enjoyed creating treasured handmade cards, jewelry, and wooden gifts for his family. He took great pride in custom building his own computers, loved sci-fi books and movies, and enjoyed singing duets with his wife, Rebecca. In honoring Roy's wishes, there will be no public services. A private celebration of life gathering is being planned for a future date.
