Donna L. Finnerty, 79, formerly of Governour, New York, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026. Donna was born in Elmira, New York to the late Perry and Sylvia Chamberlain. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ted Finnerty; her sister, Marian Brewer; brother-in-law, Charlie Gilbert. Donna is survived by her two sons, Ted Finnerty, John Finnerty; grandson, Logan Finnerty; two sisters, Sue Gilbert, Vera Harmon; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Donna was an elementary school teacher with the Gouverneur Central School District, Gouverneur, New York. The family will receive friends Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with the Rev. Jay Geistdorfer, officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA, in the Spring.
