John Edward Smith, 83, of Spencer, New York, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026. John was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his mother, Violet Smith. John is survived by his two sisters and brother-in-law, Ellen and Joe Johanson, Barbara Garrett; two brothers and sister-in-law, Ray Garrett, Chuck and Sue Garrett; special nephew, Mark Garrett; several other nieces, nephews and cousins. John loved life and will be remembered as a gentle hard working man. In honoring John's wishes there will be no public services.
