Patricia Rae "Pat" Drewry Obituary

A longtime nurse, Patricia Rae (Clark) Drewry of Johnson City, N.Y., passed away on Thursday,

March 5, 2026, at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. She was 88 years of age.

Known for her writing skills with the numerous writing groups she joined in the area, Pat also

enjoyed walking, hiking, reading, planting and observing flowers. Violets and daffodils were her

special favorites. Pat loved being anywhere near the water, especially in the Finger Lakes

region.

She was a member of the Apalachin Federated Garden Club, delivered Meals on Wheels for

Tioga County, and spent time with close friends who were like family to her. Pat's daughters

and grandchildren were the cherished focus of her life. On holidays she decorated extensively

and bought lots of presents, her favorite thing to do.

Born May 3, 1937, in Breesport, N.Y. to Lorraine Z. Vowell and Francis W. Clark, Pat

graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1954. Grandparents, Elmer and Marion Everts,

Theodore and Anna Clark, played crucial roles in her younger life. Several aunts, uncles, and

cousins (especially Sylvia, Margie, Diana, and Bunnie Rae) were dear to her.

She earned her RN degree at Binghamton City Hospital in 1957 and worked in nursing until

nearly 80 years old. Pat considered herself fortunate to still get together monthly with

classmates for lunch and lots of laughter.

At the age of 63, Pat met Dan Drewry, who played his guitar and sang his way into her heart.

They were married on Valentines Day in 2003, and he joined her special circle of loved ones.

They considered it a miracle to have "found each other."

She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Robert Drewry. Pat is survived by her

loving husband, Daniel Drewry; her children Sharon Lorraine Vargo (Dean), Mary Beth Weston

and Andrea Arden Gerding (Bill); as well as step daughters Amy Heath and Faith Drewry; by

grandchildren Christian Michael Penaherrera, Olivia Rae and Cambria Marie Litzinger; by step

grandchildren Chrissy and Bill Gerding; by brother Larry Arden Vowell and his children, Alexis

(John) and Ryan (Jamie), and their children; by brother-in-law Arthur Drewry, and many

members of their families.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., with

funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral

Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, N.Y. with the South Central New York/Binghamton Nurses

Honor Guard services followed by words of comfort by the Rev. David C. Seaver. Burial will

follow in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, N.Y.
