Stephen "Steve" Baker passed away peacefully at his home on April 10, 2026.

He was predeceased by his parents, Delos and Gladys Baker; his brother, Raymond Baker.

Steve is survived by his partner, Susan Eschler; his daughter, Tiffany Flores and her husband, George; his daughter, Beth; his two stepsons, Anthony Eschler and his wife, Samantha; Ethan Eschler and his wife Johanna, two grandchildren, Corrin Baker-Garcia and her husband, John, and Kevin Flores; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Jack and Sophia, with one more on the way, two grand-puppies, Ava and Jasper.

Steve was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of the VFW Post #1371, American Legion Post #401, and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1595. Steve retired from the Telephone Company and lived life to the fullest. You could find Steve an armslength away from any and all forms of gambling with pull tabs being his favorite. He enjoyed hunting, westerns, rides through town, and an occasional sweet treat. Steve will be remembered by his family and all those who knew him.

A funeral service will take place on April 17th at 11:00am at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 16th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Patricks Cemetery in Owego, NY at a later date to be determined.
