Norman Robert "Norm" Keesler Obituary
Norman R. "Norm" Keesler, 95, of Owego, New York, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the New York State Veterans Home @ Oxford. Norman was born in Scranton, PA to the late Earl and Elizabeth (Ruth) Keesler. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Sheridan. Norm is survived by his wife, Marie Keesler; his son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Janet Keesler; daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Don Boss; four grandchildren, Sarah Keesler and Jeremiah Tamagna-Darr, Elizabeth Keesler, Melissa and Christopher DiGiacomandrea, Monica Boss and Grady Schmidt; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Norm graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and SUNY Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute at Farmingdale. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, spending 30 months in Japan and Korea. He retired from IBM, Owego, New York. The family fondly remembers him playing outside with all of the kids. He enjoyed playing sports, riding bikes, gardening, lawn mowing, piano tuning, playing trumpet and many other activities. Norm was a locksmith and loved to fix cars, lawn mowers and engines of any kind. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Sharon Whitmore, who spent many years helping Dad, as well as the other caregivers who assisted him at home and the staff at the Oxford Veterans Home.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Campville Fire department, 6153 State Route 17C, Endicott, NY 13760.
