Charles Donald Cope Jr., 82, of Berkshire, NY, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at his home, with Sharon by his side. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son, Robert; his daughters, Dana and Paula; his stepsons, Rick, Leon, and Mark; his stepdaughters, Karen, Kathy, Yvonne, Cindy, and Lynda; 41 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren; his brother, Butch; and his sister-in-law, Elaine. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Donald Cope Sr.; his mother, Effie Mildred Cope; his sister, Pamela Sue Cope; and his first wife, Jo Ellen Cope, the mother of his two children. The family will receive friends Monday, May 11, 2026 from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY with the Rev. Jay Geistdorfer, officiating. As per his wishes, Don will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, alongside his first wife, Jo Ellen, who passed away in 1980.
