Bob was also blessed gaining even more family when he married Cheryl in 2002, which included Cheryl's children, Matthew (Tammy) Schyndler, Jill (Tim) Truman and Louie (Liz) Fischer, along with their children.
Bob was one of kind. He was a very talented machinist and spent many years working at George Industries. He was always willing to lend a helping hand with his talents to family and friends. Bob was a man of service. He spent 21 years in the Army Reserves. He retired as Staff Sergeant and was a proud veteran. Bob also gave back to his community as a volunteer in the Apalachin Fire Department for over 20 years. He served as an EMT and volunteered in many other capacities. He always carried fond memories of his time with the Apalachin Fire Department.
Bob never had a bad word to say about anybody. He was always kind and welcoming to everyone he met. He was a quiet, reserved and easy-going man. His love of laughter and good times can't be matched. Bob loved spending time with his wife Cheryl, siblings and in laws at his brother Tony's golf course. They camped, golfed, celebrated and created many special memories over the years.
Bob's greatest legacy lives on through his three children, Brian, Michael and Lori. He believed deeply in hard work, helping others and giving back when he could. They will continue to define their lives in a way that Bob lived. His zest for life, generous spirit and his beautiful smile is something they will hold dear in their hearts forever. They were blessed to have "Fa" as their father.
A special thank you to some of staff at the Cottages Nursing Home in Cicero, NY that helped take care of Bob, especially his two favorites CNA's, Sherry and Cheryl who loved Bob like family. Also a very big thank you to two cherished people in Bob's life, Linda Hamlin-Barno and Jim Barno. They always brought smiles and sunshine when Bob needed it most.
