Frederick "Randy" Randall Gilkeson, 67, of Harpursville, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 27th, 2026.

Born on October 25, 1958, in Binghamton, New York, Randy was the son of James H. and Joyce A. Gilkeson.

Randy graduated from Windsor Central High School, where he made many lifelong memories playing varsity football alongside his close friends Perry Pasquale, Steve Armstrong, and Dave Axtell. As a defensive tackle, he helped lead the Black Knights to the Susquehanna Association League in 1977, when Windsor earned a notable No. 8 ranking in the Small Schools division.

Following high school, Randy proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1980. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal and was honorably discharged, carrying with him the values of dedication, discipline, and service throughout his life.

Known by many as a true "jack-of-all-trades," Randy built a career through hard work and skilled craftsmanship. Over the years, he worked in home construction, owned and operated a collision body shop, and later worked as a welder for Ocean Steel Corporation until his retirement in 2016.

In 1999, Randy married the love of his life, Judith Carroll. Together they welcomed their daughter, Elizabeth, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Outside of work, Randy's greatest passions were dirt-track racing and classic automobiles. He traveled throughout Upstate New York and Pennsylvania, rarely missing an opportunity to attend a race during the season. He also enjoyed attending car shows and was the proud owner of a 1973 Triumph Stag and a 1963 Chrysler 300 Convertible. In 2001, the Gilkeson family received the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) National Award for James Gilkeson's beautifully restored 1933 Hupmobile—a project Randy played an integral role in bringing back to show-quality condition.

Above all, Randy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering loyalty to those he loved, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

He survives by his beloved wife, Judith Gilkeson; his daughter, Elizabeth Gilkeson; his brothers and sister; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In accordance with Randy's wishes, no public funeral or memorial service will be held. A private gathering for close family and friends will be held to celebrate his life and honor his memory.
