Everett F. Swansbrough, 88, of Candor, New York, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Everett was born in the family home in Candor, NY to the late Jay B and Mary (Benton) Swansbrough. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Harold and Ronald Swansbrough. Everett is survived by his wife of 70 years, Violet Swansbrough; his three children and their spouses, Edward and Denise Swansbrough, Bonnie and Steven Manning, Gary and Carrie Swansbrough; his special children, Marshall and Kim Balzer; numerous grandchildren great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Everett was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Borg Warner after 42 years of service. He was very community minded and a lifelong member of the Candor Fire Department and a volunteer with Bread of Life Food Pantry. Everett will be remembered as a hard-working honest man who loved his family and community. He had a love of cars and never met a stray animal that he did not love. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor, NY with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY with full military honor being accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Everett F.
