Obituary of Timothy M. Neild

Timothy Neild, 37, of Candor, died unexpectedly on October 13, 2017 and is now at peace. Tim was predeceased by his grandfather, William Standinger, Jr.  Tim is survived by his wife, Sha-la Neild; parents, Rick and Wendy Neild; daughter, Catherine Neild; step-son, David Tyner, II; sisters, Aubrey (Eric) Lang, Rachel (James) Conklin; brother, Sean Cook-Neild;  maternal grandmother, Florence Sawyer; paternal grandmother, Jean (Vaughn) Neild; special uncle, Bill (Debra) Standinger III; niece, Shawna; nephews,  Brodie and Liam; canine companion, Tucker Wucker Snuggle Bear; several other extended family members and friends. Tim graduated from Candor High School in 1998. He received his formal education from Delhi University and Binghamton University for Carpentry and Mechanical Engineering. Tim was an Afghanistan Veteran and a Bronze Star Recipient. He was a Captain in the Army National Guard in the 27th  Brigade,  Syracuse, NY. Tim went to Sapper School for military training.   He was an active member of the VFW Post #1371 and a member of the honor guard.  Funeral services will be  held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the McKendree United Methodist Church, 224 Owego St., in Candor with Pastor Kelly Carner, officiating. Tim will be laid down to rest immediately following the funeral at the Maple Grove Cemetery, in Candor. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20th, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home,137 Main St., Candor. Memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s memory to any association for Veterans such as the Wounded Warrior projects, or the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, Inc.
