Obituary of Samuel D. Cortright

Samuel D. Cortright, 71, of Candor, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, January 13, 2018.  Sam was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Cassandra “Cassie” Cortright; son, Tommy Cortright; He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Brent Chaffee; son, John (Danielle) Cortright; three grandchildren, Yvette, Alexander, Connor; three great-grandchildren, Piper, Audrick, Perseis; two sisters and brother-in-law, Dawn and George Myers, Donna and Jerry Gavette; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Sam managed several local grocery stores. He will be remembered for his love of music, especially, Elvis Presley.  A celebration of Sam’s life will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bostwick Gallery, 1121 Route 96, Candor, with the Rev.
