James “Jim” Russell, 83, of Little Meadows, PA passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019.  Jim was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Mildred Russell; One brother, William Russell; two sisters, Nancy Lynch, Sally Brewer; his son, John Russell.  He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 29 years, Patricia Russell; nine children and their spouses, Vicky and Jack Kozic, Peggy and Jim Wenzel, Lorry Williams, Terri and John Amato, James and Sheryl Russell, Amy Wales, Michael and Dorothea Gaston, Rebecca and Terrance Neal, Carrie Gaston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Glenda Russell; sister, Linda Russell; brother-in-law, Richard Lynch; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Jim was a great athlete who played football and held the 440 track record for many years for the Owego-Apalachin School District.  Jim loved sports and coached at all levels of baseball and was a STAC Football League official for over 43 years.  He was a founding member of the Little Meadows Fire Company and he enjoyed playing softball with the Karousel Kids.  Jim retired after 35 years of service from IBM in Owego and 17 years as a Tioga County Court Attendant.  Life celebration services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, a Life Celebrations Home®, 15 Park St., Owego.  Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be made to Jim’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
