Obituary of Jean L Bruce

 Jean L. Bruce, 92, of Owego, passed away Thursday August 1, 2019.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2017.  Jean is survived by her children; Sara (Jim) Bruce Bendo, Melissa (Bob) Tyrone, Timothy (Gabi) Bruce, Mary Jaye (Ann) Bruce, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Jean was an avid golfer and gardener.  They say she could spot a four leaf clover from anywhere.  She was a former member of the Harper Chorale, a 1949 graduate of Fredonia College with a Bachelors in music and teaching, and a member of the First Presbyterian Union Church in Owego.  Jean taught at Roslyn Elementary, which is where she met her husband Bob.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Union Church, 90 North Ave., Owego.  The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 10:00 to 11:00.   Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to the First Presbyterian Union Church Choir.  Condolences may be made to Jean’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
