Obituary of Sheila M. Bonner

Sheila M. Bonner, 91, of Candor, passed away unexpectedly on August 29th, 2023. Sheila was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Chris Bonner; her parents, Patrick & Avis Sheehan; three brothers; her in-laws, Mary & Edward Bonner. Sheila is survived by her four children, Arlene (Jim) VanAlstine, Diane (Bryan) Rockwell, Chris (Dotty) Bonner, Barb (Steven) Sergeant; five grandchildren, Steven J Sergeant, Michaela (Jake) Swift, Kristy (Ross) Temple, Sarah and Racheal VanAlstine, four great grandchildren, Jameson and Jocelyn Sergeant, Ryan Michael Swift, Jesse James Minervini; Inlaws Janet (Edward) Bonner; nephew Mathew (Lesley) Bonner and their children Brian and Kaylee Bonner. Two very special friends, Pat and her son Tom Lightbody. Sheila was born in England and moved to the USA when she was a teenager, she later became a US citizen at age 18. She worked as a bank teller where she met and married her beloved husband. She later became a housewife raising her four children. In 1973 they left the city to move upstate to Candor, NY, where she resided until her passing. Sheila lived on the farm where she helped care for their animals (cows & pigs) they raised. She was a lively, adventurous, and spunky girl until the end. With her English accent, quirky wit, warm personality and kind heart, she touched the hearts of many. Sheila was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. The family will be having private services.
