Leitha L. Shaylor, 84, of Owego, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Mercy House in Endicott, NY surrounded by her family. Leitha was born in Endicott, NY and raised by her mother, Leila (Thomas) Sibley and stepfather, James Sibley. She married the love her of life, the late Clifford "Sam" Shaylor and celebrated forty years of marriage together before his passing in 1999. Along with her husband, Leitha was predeceased by her two brothers, Lowell Hines and Lionel Bradley. Leitha is survived by her children and their spouses, Lisa and Willy McIntyre, Clifford and Lisa Shaylor; many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Owego Free Academy. Leitha retired in 2001 from National Cash Register in Ithaca, NY after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Friday Night Bowling League for several years. She often spoke of fond memories of the girls and the laughs and fun they shared. Her passions and hobbies included going to auctions, watching the birds from her back porch, and she enjoyed a good card game. Leitha enjoyed talking for hours, remembering and sharing stories of friends who have since passed before her. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY with the Rev. Robert Harris officiating. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe and Fahey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations in Leitha's name to Mercy House, 212 N McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760
