Robert W. “Bob” Bruce, 88, of Owego passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Bruce; four children, Sara and Jim Bendo, Melissa and Bob Tyrone, Timothy and Gabriele Bruce, Mary Jaye Bruce and friend, Ann; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joan) Bruce; several nieces and nephews. Bob retired from IBM – Glendale and was a very loyal member of the First Presbyterian Union Church of Owego, having served as a past deacon and a member of the church choir. Some of Bob’s passions included: playing softball, golf and his membership at the Tioga Country Club, proud runner, having participated in the Senior Olympics and Senior Games; great piano player; enthusiastic singer, and a barbeque fanatic!! Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Union Church of Owego with the Rev. Lisa Heckman, officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert W. Bruce’s memory to the First Presbyterian Union Church, 111 Temple Street, Owego, NY 13827 or the Campville Emergency Squad, 6153 State Route 17C, Endicott, NY 13760.
