Obituary of Kenneth L. Short

Kenneth “Butch” L. Short, 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth W. Short and Sarah Viette; sister, Carol Rogers; brother, David Short. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Short; children and their spouses, Kenneth and Linda Short, Robin and Philip Beebe, Darcy and Jill Short; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Short, Stephen and Joyce Short; sisters-in-law, Sharon (John) Carlile, Sandra (James) Berry; several nieces and nephews. Ken retired from IBM and Lockheed Martin in Owego. He loved the outdoors and was a member and instructor of the New York State Trappers Assoc. and a former member of the Tioga County Sportsman’s Assoc. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth L. Short’s memory to Hospice at Lourdes, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850 or American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
