Obituary of Alice Quick Truman
Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On February 9, 2021 Alice Q. Truman died at home surrounded by family and friends. Born to Henry and Erma Quick on January 14, 1947, she attended Owego Free Academy, Northfield School for Girls and Syracuse University. After attaining her teaching degree she moved to Vermont to begin her life long career in a one-room schoolhouse. She continued teaching at the Barton Graded School before moving to Millers Run School to become principal. Alice returned to Owego in 1999, working as a principal at Spencer-Van Etten Elementary School until she retired. She leaves behind her husband Charles Truman, her daughter Rachel Crawford, sister Susan Rice, four stepchildren and seven grandchildren plus many great friends who will remember her for her smile, stories, and the way she cared for others. Per her wishes there will be a celebration of her life this summer at the Truman Farm. Condolences may be made to Alice's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
