Obituary of Edgar W. Lewis

Edgar “Pete” Lewis, 96, of Owego, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017.  Pete was predeceased by six siblings, Richard, Evelyn, Thelma, June, Audrey, Beverly.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edith Lewis; five children and their spouse, Diane Wormuth, Caroline and Tim Woodruff, Judy and Randy Simoneaux, William and Joan Lewis, Martha Arnold; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.   Pete served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He retired with 25 years of service from the Vestal School District and was a member of the VFW Post #1371.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Rev. Loretta Perry, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.   Condolences may be made to Pete’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
